Motivational Monday: Pains & Gains

A lot of things in life cannot be experienced or understood without previous knowledge of other experiences. How could you experience heat without knowing what is cold? How could you experience happiness without knowing sadness? This analogy carries through to the “no pains, no gains” mentality. It might be hard to accept, but many times, in order to truly and fully succeed, you have to fail, to fall.

The best part about going through difficulties is that those moments give you a reason to succeed. Someone determined to overcome the “pains” is willing to improve and work harder towards the “gains” that are made possible with dedication. As the driving force behind your motivation, the hard times are your incentive to work harder. Be thankful to have something pushing you forward into improvement, success and eventually your goals.

To me, one of the best parts about overcoming something is the appreciation you feel for overcoming it. After you have suffered and gone through the hard times, you will have a better appreciation for every achievement you have worked hard towards. You will look back and it will remind you to be thankful for what you have. Everything that has troubled you will have inspired you to be great. The same way you cannot have sun light without knowing darkness, if you do not have pains, how can you expect to know your gains?

  2. Your goals should always remain in front of you , this is your destination – bumpy road – flat tires- may delay your arrival but should not stop or divert you.
